I'm generally not a huge fan of Florida (too many strip malls, not enough trees). But Tina and I spent a day on Sanibel Island and caught the sunset at the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, which is a little slice of heaven. It's an amazing spot for bird watching, especially shore birds.
This Yellow-crowned Night Heron seemed to enjoy being the object of attention.
Roseate Spoonbills, which are much more impressive in person than this photo indicates, started to congregate as the sun set. There are white Pelicans in the background.
